Muslims in Rail continue our mission to inspire those considering a career in the rail industry. The team recently supported careers fairs at East London Mosque & London Muslim Centre and Mulberry Schools Trust, engaging with a diverse mix of young people, parents, and students exploring future opportunities.
There was strong interest across a range of career paths, including engineering, train driving, customer service, and marketing. Attendees particularly valued guidance on employer expectations, pay, and long term career prospects.
It was especially encouraging to see more young women showing interest in the railway industry, particularly in engineering and marketing roles.
The team also supported many under 21s and undergraduates seeking advice on skills and career pathways. For many, it was eye opening to discover the wide range of opportunities within the rail industry, from apprenticeships and graduate schemes to business and environmental roles – beyond the more traditional positions.
