This year in 2023 we are delighted to have partnered with Muslim Aid to help raise money to Feed the Fasting in Syria – families affected by the devastating Earthquake in Turkey-Syria, as well as the Syrian Homes project. Thanks to the kindness of our donors, we are humbled to have raised over £15,000 for these causes mashaa'Allah.

We were delighted to have helped raise £5,528 for our 2022 Charity campaign to help support refugees entering the UK, with entrepreneurial opportunities via the ‘New Dawn Program’ with Mercy Mission UK.

Our appeal was to help rebuild a school in Uganda in East Africa (in partnership with Muslim Charity), where we raised over £15,000 thanks to our kind donors. The global pandemic has devastated many economies around the world, with school education especially suffering in developing countries.
Homeless Support – August – December 2020
Throughout the 2nd half of 2020, Muslims in Rail partnered with Rhythms of Life and Salma Food Bank to help provide meals for thousands of hungry homeless people in central London.
Salma Food Bank – July 2020
In the summer of 2020, Muslims in Rail was able to subsidise hundreds of meals and a brand new Freezer to London’s Salma Food Bank, working to help support families struggling in poverty during the pandemic.
Fast Money – May 2020
In 2019, Muslims in Rail members raised over £5,000 to support National Zakat Foundation’s Hardship relief fund, to help support people suffering in poverty during the pandemic here in the UK.

In 2019, Muslims in Rail members raised over £4,000 to support the education of abandoned street children and orphans in Dhaka (Bangladesh), in Muslim Charity’s ‘School under the sky’ project. Helping poor children benefit from education in a pop-up school in a railway station.
Railway Children Sleepout – January 2019
Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect. MIR members will be swapping their warm bed at home for the cold floor of a railway station for just one night to help raise awareness as well as vital funds to support the hundreds of children who face this ordeal every day around the world.
Help the Homeless – November 2018
A total of 7,484 people were seen rough sleeping in London during 2017/18. With the winter months set to bring further harsh weather into the capital, MIR are supporting charities Rhythms of Life and Merton Faith in Action with regular food distribution and a Winter Night Shelter respectively.
Tour de Salah – September 2018
Tour de Salah, the biggest organised bike event of its kind, was a unique physical and spiritual challenge like no other! Cycling across the capital stopping at iconic mosques and enjoying wonderful scenery along the way, three members cycled 100km raising £100 for Barnardo’s Young Carers.
Olive Tree School – September 2018
MIR made a difference by helping renovate a school that will benefit generations for years to come! MIR members helped decorate an Islamic School prior to its re-opening under new management.
Hand in Hand for Syria – July 2018
Established by a group of British-Syrians, looking for how to help Syria, Hand in Hand for Syria has grown to become one of the leading humanitarian charities serving Syrian communities in Syria and neighbouring countries. MIR members supported filling a container with food and clothes for transportation to Syria.
Fast Money – June 2018
As part of our follow-up Fast Money Ramadan campaign, we encouraged members and their colleagues to donate their ‘Fast’ money saved from skipping lunch, snacks or indeed the whole day’s food. £1,102 was raised from 65 donations for Barnardo’s and a cheque presented during our Eid Dinner.
Fast Money – Summer 2016
For the first time ever, Muslims in Rail members came together to support our first ever Ramadan Charity Campaign, known as Fast Money. We encouraged members and their colleagues to donate their ‘Fast’ money saved from skipping lunch, snacks or indeed the whole day’s food. £1,724 was raised from 79 kind donors for Network Rail’s charity of choice CLIC Sargent, supporting children undergoing cancer treatment.
