The Muslims in Rail Leadership Team and Ambassadors hit the tracks on Britain’s iconic railway for a whirlwind 24 hour Railway tour of Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London. Celebrating Eid, building connections, and shining a spotlight on Railway 200 where MIR will showcase Muslim contributions to the railway later this year.
The journey brought meaningful conversations with grassroots members around careers, wellbeing, and the future of MIR, plus recognition for some of our incredible volunteers.
Along the way, we shared amazing meals: Afghani cuisine in Glasgow, heading down to Manchester via TransPennine Express for Punjabi breakfast, followed by a CrossCountry Trains to indulge in a Syrian lunch in Birmingham before jumping on an Avanti West Coast service for a Malaysian dinner in London.
A portion of ticket sales supported Muslim Aid UK’s Gaza Appeal, blending connection with compassion.
Thanks to all who joined, especially the Association of Muslim Engineers (AME). We’re just getting started – next time Inshaa’Allah more cities, more members… maybe even abroad!
