Continuing on our journey this Ramadan, Muslims in Rail were delighted to bring an introduction to diverse communities in Birmingham, for our 2nd Iftar event of the special month of Ramadan. Offering a chance for people in our industry to experience an Ramadan Iftar meal and private tour in the prestigious Green Lane Mosque.
Visitors enjoyed a private tour, special presentations, demystifying Q&A sessions, observing the congregational prayer and enjoying a hearty Iftar meal at sunset with Muslim colleagues to open their fast.
Commenting on his first ever visit to a Mosque, Dom Mottram MCIRO from Network Rail explained: “it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, especially with the friends and colleagues that I have. So when this opportunity came up through MIR I thought I better jump at this…!”
Such occasions are ideal to build understanding and strengthen community ties. We are passionate about continuing to offer such opportunities in the future, which are growing in popularity year on year.
