Muslims in Rail are humbled to have supported and delivered Discover Ramadan Iftar events across the UK – and our first ever event in Scotland, with Glasgow Central Mosque.
Rail professionals and members of the local community were invited to participate in an engaging evening consisting of private guided tours of some of the UK’s most iconic local Mosques, special presentations, Q&A sessions with Imams, observing the congregational prayer before and enjoying a hearty Iftar evening meal with Muslim colleagues to open their fast. Providing a great experience of the essence of Ramadan.
These events are a great way to build community cohesion, understanding and respect. Muslims in Rail, are pleased to have received overwhelming positive feedback from visitors, stating how much they took away from the events, and how welcome they were made to feel.
Catherine at last Friday’s event at Glasgow Central Mosque said: “I didn’t really know very much about Ramadan before I came. I feel like I’ve learned a lot, I’ve listened, I understand a little bit better. I’ve been treated with upmost respect and enjoyed every single second of it!”
