MIR submitted a 12-page report to the National Infrastructure Commission’s call for evidence for its Rail needs assessment for the Midlands and the North (HS2).
The submission focused on:
1) Safeguards for Hate crime / Islamophobic attacks on the Rail network;
2) Railway benefiting social deprivation;
3) Muslim barriers to employment in the Railway;
4) Accessible Dementia-friendly Railway for now and the future
It is hoped the report plays a small part in shaping national rail strategy on quality of life prospects for BAME and Muslim communities in the UK. To receive a copy of the report please emailĀ info@muslimsinrail.org
