1st February marked World Hijab Day (watch here), where Muslims in Rail arranged a stall at London Paddington Station to allow members of public to try on a Hijab and ask questions around the importance of the Hijab in the Islamic faith firsthand from the Muslim women that work within the railway.
Attendees from all faiths were given opportunity to try one on, take a selfie with our selfie frame and take away a special gift hijab (designer quality) courtesy of our sponsors @roohayacollection.
One of our passengers passing through the station shared – “Where we live in Suffolk we don’t have anybody who wears the hijab, I love travelling to see my son in Walthamstow; it’s so diverse and welcoming.”
We would like to extend our gratitude to the station staff, our sponsors, the volunteers and for all who attended the stall!
